Found in an art book

My art history course is going to start again, and this year I am studying Renaissance art, which I know not much about. It is not really my kind of art but that what makes it interesting/challenging.
I was perusing some books in the art library to get a head start and I stumbled upon the most peculiar picture...

It is Portrait of Antonietta Gonzalez, C (1595) by Lavinia Fontana
and I already can't wait to know more about her work!
