Snippets of: Jānis Avotiņš & Ice age art

Visiting bitterly cold London for a week, I popped in the Saatchi Gallery (free!) and stumbled upon
the work of Jānis Avotiņš, a Latvian artist.
I liked his dark, ghostly paintings...

Again, they are much better in real life!
The New Art From Russia exhibition is on until the 9th of June.

I went to the British Museum too, for the Ice Age art: arrival of the modern mind exhibition. It's really good, and makes you think modern artists really didn't invent anything!
